Mission: To encourage and enable participants of every ability level to reach their full potential in a safe, nurturing, and fully inclusive environment. To promote and encourage community participation in all aspects of our working horse facility, The Barn, and its extended life skills programs.
Anne Phipps and Barbara Pearson founded Monterey Bay Therapeutic Vaulting Center in 1997 after realizing the tremendous benefits children with special needs received from vaulting (gymnastics on horseback). In 2000, Gail Wright joined the team. We incorporated in 2000, became a 501(c)3 in 2004, and became a San Andreas Regional Center Vendor in 2006.
We are located ocean side within a private, 100 acre, gated campus in La Selva Beach. Our 5-1/2 acre facility includes a 1/3 acre covered arena, 32 covered stalls, meeting rooms, office, deck, round pen, outdoor arena (soon!), and miles of trails.
